This hand knotted Indo Gabbeh Lorifbaft is crafted to a very high quality. In India it is not simply oriented at the Persian original, but rather creates his very own class. Fine sheep wool, robust knotting and durable colours are important aspects for their quality. A beautiful modern carpet can change entire rooms. This one certainly does. Only a Persian Gabbeh rug can exceed this quality.

Indian Gabbeh rugs

This beautiful Gabbeh rug was hand knotted in India. Indian Gabbeh rugs are made of soft sheep's wool, are comfortable on the feet and have heat insulating properties. Mostly their designs are simple and contemporary. They were inspired by nomadic tribes, who have incorporated very simple motifs from their environment into their rugs. Indian Gabbeh rugs do not fully come close to the quality of a Persian Gabbeh, but have a very favorable price-performance ratio. Therefore, they are perfectly suitable as hand-knotted beginner rugs.

Natural wool

Wool is a natural material that brings important positive properties to everyday life. It is extremely hard-wearing and can easily withstand daily stress. With proper care, it can also live for many decades without showing signs of aging. Natural wool is also dirt-repellent with its own fat content, which protects it from dirt and moisture. Wool is suited for underfloor heating systems. It regulates to a certain degree the humidity in the room and insulates sound and heat.

Knotted by hand

Traditionally hand-knotted rugs still form the highest quality standard among all types of rugs. Depending on the type of knot, the rugs are extremely robust and can last for generations. The finer and tighter a rug is knotted, the more detailed ornaments and patterns can be depicted on the pile. At the same time, a very fine oriental rug requires a much higher manual effort as well as a higher level of experience and skill of the knotter. Thus the knot density also serves as a decisive value factor of hand-knotted rugs. The quality is not directly related to the knot density. A rather coarse rug may well have been made in excellent quality.
